Fiscal Printers in Other Countries

What it does

Fiscal receipts are a legal matter, and every country writes its own rules: which document counts as a receipt, what has to be reported and when, which devices are certified, and what the printer and the till are allowed to say to each other. Because of that, fiscal support has to be built one country at a time — it isn't a setting we can switch on.

Today POSolid supports fiscal printing in Poland — see Supported Fiscal Printers. Other countries are in development, and which one we do next is decided largely by which countries our customers ask for.

If you're outside Poland, this page tells you what works today and how to get your country or your printer on the list.

Getting started

Everything in POSolid except fiscal receipts works the same way in any country. Outside Poland you run POSolid without a fiscal device:

  1. Create your organization and set your country and currency — see Create Your Account. There is no fiscal option to configure, and nothing is missing from your account because of it.
  2. Add an ordinary thermal receipt printer (ESC/POS) for guest pre-checks, receipt copies and kitchen tickets — see Supported Thermal Printers. This is the only printer most venues outside Poland need.
  3. Take orders and payments as normal. The register, orders, table plan, kitchen display, QR menu, discounts, staff and reports all behave identically — none of them depend on a fiscal device.
  4. Use the reports for your accounting. Sales, payment methods and VAT breakdowns are all recorded and exportable, whatever your country requires you to file — see Reports Overview.

The one thing you don't get is a receipt registered with your tax authority by the printer itself. If your country requires that, your fiscal obligation is currently handled outside POSolid — and that is exactly what we'd like to hear about.

Ask us about your country or printer

Support gets prioritised by demand, so asking genuinely moves your country up the list. Contact us and tell us:

  • Your country, and the city or region if local rules vary.
  • The printer or fiscal device you already own or intend to buy — brand and exact model. If you have documentation for its protocol, say so; it makes a large difference to how quickly we can support it.
  • What the law requires of you — a printed fiscal receipt, a daily or monthly report, an electronic journal, real-time reporting to a government service, certified software, or some combination.
  • Your timeline, and how many venues you run.

We'll tell you honestly whether your device looks feasible, what would be involved, and whether anyone else has asked for the same country. If your printer speaks a protocol we already handle, it can sometimes work through the Other brand option that already exists for Poland — send us the model and we'll check rather than guess.

Key things to know

  • You can use POSolid today without a fiscal printer. Every other feature works. Fiscal printing is one integration, not the foundation the product sits on.
  • The fiscal option is hidden, not locked. It appears only for organizations set to a country POSolid supports fiscally, so if you don't see it, nothing is wrong with your account or your plan — your country simply isn't wired up yet.
  • A thermal printer is the substitute. Outside Poland the guest pre-check, receipt copies and kitchen tickets all come off an ordinary ESC/POS thermal printer, which is cheaper and easier to buy than a fiscal device.
  • We won't promise a date. Adding a country can mean device protocols, certification and legal review, and the honest answer about timing depends on all three. What we can tell you is where your country stands and what it would take.
  • Compliance stays yours. Until POSolid supports fiscal receipts in your country, meeting your local obligations is your responsibility — please don't treat a POSolid receipt as a fiscal document where the law requires a registered one.
  • Ask before you buy. If you're about to spend money on a fiscal device hoping it will work, talk to us first. That conversation costs nothing and has saved people a purchase before.

FAQ

Q: I'm not in Poland. Can I still use POSolid?
A: Yes, fully. Set your country and currency, add an ordinary ESC/POS thermal printer for pre-checks and kitchen tickets, and everything else — register, orders, tables, kitchen display, QR menu, reports, staff — works exactly as it does anywhere else. The only feature you won't see is fiscal receipt printing.

Q: Why don't I see the fiscal option in printer settings?
A: It only appears for organizations set to a country POSolid supports fiscally, which today means Poland. It isn't a plan restriction or a fault with your account.

Q: Which countries are you adding next?
A: The order follows demand, so we don't publish a fixed roadmap. Tell us your country and it counts toward that decision — and we'll tell you where it currently stands.

Q: I already own a fiscal printer in another country. Will it work?
A: Possibly, if it speaks a protocol we already support. Send us the exact brand and model and we'll check. Don't assume it works from the brand name alone — the same manufacturer often uses a completely different protocol per market.

Q: How long does adding a country take?
A: It depends on what your country requires: a device protocol alone is one thing, certification and mandatory real-time reporting to a tax authority is another. We'd rather tell you what's involved for your case than quote a date we can't stand behind.

Q: Can I print a normal receipt in the meantime?
A: Yes. Guest pre-checks, receipt copies and kitchen tickets all print on a standard thermal printer — see Supported Thermal Printers. They are ordinary commercial documents, not fiscal ones.

Q: How do I ask about my country or printer?
A: Use the contact page and include your country, your device's brand and model, and what your local law requires. The more specific you are, the more useful an answer we can give.
